For those of you who may be wondering about our banner image, it is a photo that was taken by my daughter Maurina in Squamish, BC during the 2010 paralympic torch run. The torch was being carried by my son Nathan as he completed his leg of the relay. As an athlete with a disability it was a very powerful moment for Nathan and as such it has become an important symbol to us.

Celebrating 13 years in support of Special Olympics BC

Special Olympics BC (SOBC) provides sports programs and competitions to meet the needs and interests of individuals with intellectual disabilities. Established in 1980, today over 3,500 athletes participate in Special Olympics BC sports programs in 55 communities across British Columbia. These programs give athletes the opportunity to train year-round in order to compete and test their skills against athletes of similar ability.
